Hasn't August been a darling so far? Last year I had on my bucket list to hike Mt. Kenya.. Outrageous? I don't think so. Well that has not happened yet to be clear its not happening in the next few months either . I had visited Naro Moru last year and I have to admit it has one of the most breath taking sunrise maybe part of the reason I thought I really wanted to go up the mountain.
You know how much you get psyched up once you see what people have achieved and you are thinking I could do this too. I saw the flags people had signed once they got to Lenana Peak and I thought this would be fun, something I'd want to do with my closest circle of friends.
So just this past weekend I went down to Namanga another place I thought I would just fall in love with and marry...well that is a bit exaggerated but you understand I really fell in love with the whole idea of skipping the busy city lie for a few hours.

Well let me be the first to say, the travelling was the easy part. I absolutely thought that all the working out would pay off and I would probably run all the way to the top and come back and at the end will be like who is laughing now... You can never blame a sister for being to confident.
LO ! and behold I was already gasping for air within the first five minutes and I thought what if this was Mount Kenya, it was going to take around four to five days to get to Lenana and within such a short time I was begging to go back. Had I not set my standards too high rather I wanted to get to the top so fast before I'd learn the ropes and rules. Isn't this what happens in our daily lives? We want to get to the end even before we understand what is required of us.
This was my lesson all things rather all good things do take time. Am not discouraging ambition all I am saying is it is important for anyone to be going through the fire and rain to get to the top , not just putting a little effort and expecting 100% results.

Well eventually I did make it to end of the hike, But my greatest lesson a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. Which definitely applies in all areas of life. So when you begin a journey be it a career, school, a relationship or even friendship all this is journey and all this need effort to succeed.
